We are fortunate to again collaborate with Dr. Shannon Egan, Director of the Schmucker Art Gallery where the juried art works will be exhibited to their best advantage. This year’s juror is Mr. Rene Trevino, Adjunct Faculty Member at both Maryland Institute College of Art and Towson University, as well as Exhibitions Coordinator at School 33 Art Center in Baltimore.

We’re delighted that the exhibition is an official event of the 5th Annual Gettysburg Festival and will benefit from its broad-reaching marketing efforts.  The exhibit is a good opportunity for the work of local and regional artists to be viewed by a wide audience of arts enthusiasts.

We have added an additional cash prize, which brings the awards total to $2,600.  The awards are: Best of Show ($1,000) sponsored by Scott & Co. Fine Jewelers;  2^nd Prize ($750) sponsored by OPEN MINDS;  3^rd Prize ($500) sponsored by Debra McCauslin, For The Cause Productions;  4^th Prize ($250) sponsored by ProEquities/Kristine Witherow;  and a Director’s Award ($100) sponsored by Gettysburg College’s Schmucker Art Gallery. Blick Art Materials will also offer a $125 gift certificate.  We are thrilled to offer these significant cash awards in support of area artists.

Because we wish to encourage artists to focus on their growth and evolution in their chosen media, works must have been created within the last three years and may not have been accepted into a past Adams County Arts Council Juried Art Exhibition.  Please note that the submission deadline is Friday, March 30, 2012.

The Adams County Arts Council will take no commission from the sale of works in the exhibit with all proceeds going directly to the artist.  For a $25 entry fee, artists may submit up to three works for juror consideration.  Thank you for your assistance in getting the call for entries out your membership
